Metamorphic gradient modification in the Early Cretaceous Northern Andes subduction zone: A record from thermally overprinted high-pressure rocks

چکیده

New field observations and petrological data from Early Cretaceous metamorphic rocks in the Central Cordillera of Colombian Andes allowed recognition thermally overprinted high-pressure derived oceanic crust protoliths. The obtained path suggests that evolved blueschist to eclogite facies towards upper amphibolite granulite transitional conditions. Eclogite conditions, better recorded mafic protoliths, are revealed by relic lawsonite phengite, bleb- worm-like diopside-albite symplectites, as well garnet core composition. Upper high pressure overprinting is supported coarse-grained brown-colored Ti-rich amphibole, augite, oligoclase recrystallization, record partial melting leucosomes. Phase equilibria pressure-temperature (P-T) modeling suggest initial conditions M1 yielding 18.2–24.5 kbar 465–580 °C, followed stage M2 6.5–14.2 580–720 °C. Retrograde M3 through chlorite thermometry yield temperatures ranging around 286–400 °C at pressures below 6.5–11 kbar. clockwise P-T path, zonation pattern revealing a decrease Xgrs/Xprp related Mg# increment rim, presence veins, regional constraints, document modification thermal structure active subduction zone Northern during Cretaceous. Such gradient within interface associated with slab roll-back geodynamics where hot mantle inflow was triggered. The Chadegan metamorphic complex is a WNW-ESE- trending antiformal structure located in Sanandaj-Sirjan structural zone, Iran. The inner core of the structure is made of orthogneiss, containing eclogitic lenses. Schists and marbles lie structurally above theorthogneiss and crop out in the external limbs of the antiformal dome. Two main deformational episodes have been documented in theschists an...

Provenance and metamorphic evolution of high-pressure rocks from the Malpica-Tuy zone (MTZ) in NW Spain

An eclogite and its surrounding gneiss from the Malpica-Tuy zone, northwestern Spain, were studied. The eclogite contains besides garnet and omphacite, barroisitic amphibole, quartz, phengite with Si contents between 3.27 and 3.45 per formula unit (pfu), rutile, and accessory phases such as talc and (clino)zoisite-epidote. Garnet exhibits a chemical zonation with Alm59Prp13Grs24Sps4, Alm57Prp13...

High-Pressure Marbles from the Nahavand Area in the Sanandaj-Sirjan Metamorphic Belt, Iran

Marbles containing high-pressure mineral assemblage was found from the Sanandaj-Sirjan metamorphic belt in the Nahavand area in western Iran.  The high-pressure marbles occur as small bodies or lenses within pelitic schist layers and show compositional banding of carbonate- and silicate- rich bands.  Textural analysis revealed two metamorphic stages.  The early stage is testified by relicts of ...
